lent

For lent, I am giving up on these social medias*.  I began today by taking the apps for twitter, instagram, pinterest, and facebook off of my phone and Devin will be changing the passwords tonight.  The only password I will have access to is my facebook one and I will only be checking it while I am on the phone with him (he is traveling).

The only reason I am not getting rid of facebook is because I am in a weight loss group with friends (that I started) and I would miss a lot of important announcements that pop up for church.  Both are good reasons and it is probably wise for me to learn moderation.

Our floors need to be scrubbed in a bad way and my scriptures need to be opened a lot more than they are.  So, in forty days I will tell you how I have done.

*I will still be using myfitnesspal and goodreads because I feel
like I have always used these as tools and haven't abused them.

I didn't know you celebrated Lent. I think it would be good to give all of that up for a bit. I want to...but my job is so boring it keeps me from going mad.

All the best! I'm afraid to say I haven't given up anything this year. I gave up Facebook last year but went back on a few weeks in when my husband had his accident as I needed the support. I thought about giving it up again this year but can go days without going online anyway so didn't see the point

I hear ya on the scriptures thing. I have been thinking lately I should open my Gospel Library app a lot more often than I do my Instagram, ya know?

That's awesome! It's nice how reducing/giving up some media (social and otherwise) ends up being a relief, isn't it? Can't wait to hear how you feel about this!

GO YOU! I would totally delete my facebook if it wasn't a huge source of traffic for my blog haha I am "plugged" in to SO many outlets right now it can get overwhelming, thanks for the idea to try and cut back!!
